A Farmer’s Life

TOGETHER, LET's TELL YOUR STORY

From dusk to dawn. Rain, hail or shine. From paddock to plate.

Wednesday morning. 6am.

I can hear the rain hammering down outside as I reach for the snooze button.

The thought of feeding out the horses and poo picking in “that” weather makes me pull the covers over my head.

And it strikes me.

Somewhere in New Zealand a farming family is already up and working. They didn’t hit the snooze button, they don’t have time for that.

I grew up in a farming family and consider life on the land to be much like that of a photographer – it’s not a passion or an obsession or job – it’s a way of life.

When I pour milk into my morning coffee or take a bite of a juicy red apple, it’s easy to enjoy the food without fully appreciating the blood, sweat and tears that go into producing it.

There’s much to be said about A Farmer’s Way of Life.

It’s bloody hard work. But it’s a labour of love too.

Carefully balancing nature with heart and soul to grow the best quality produce for families across the country.

Carefully navigating nature with a resilience and strength only to be admired so families can enjoy a summer BBQ.

The work never ends.

But a Farmer wouldn’t have it any other way.

Because a farmer’s way of life means more time together as a family.

It’s about getting outdoors, connecting with nature and nourishing the land.

Gumboots are considered “high fashion” on the farm.

A Farmer’s Life.

It’s simplistic but complex. It’s harsh but rewarding. It’s heartbreaking but joyous. Life and work meld into one.

That feeling of a hot shower and the soft warmth of a bed at the end of the day.

Knowing that all animals are fed, happy and safe.

A Farmer really wouldn’t have it any other way.

I want to celebrate our Farming Families. I want to bring their stories to New Zealand. I want their stories to be documented for generations to come.

From a photographer with a farming background I will be with you in whatever weather, whatever the job and whatever the day.

From dusk to dawn.

Rain, hail or shine.

From paddock to plate.

It’s A Farmers Life.

Together, let’s tell your story.

THE FARMER’S LIFE PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE

The Farmer’s life Portrait experience is a documentary style family session. I will head out to your farm, camera in hand, gum boots on and follow you and your family through your day.

I want to capture your story and your family, in real time, dust, mud, poop and everything that goes with being a farming family. I want to celebrate each of your personalities, meet your animals and ride on your quad bike.

I’m no stranger to wet or hot weather – so rain, hail or shine, I’ll be there!

Your session will take approximately 3-4 hours and includes a purchasing appointment where you can select from a gallery of gorgeous lifestyle documentary imagery that tells the real story of who your farming family is.

I want you to be proud to pass this on through your farming generations to come.

You supply the cuppa, I’ll bring the morning tea.
