What We Do

Family Photography

“Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.”

For me, photographing families is all about capturing moments – moments of laughter, moments of love and even the crazy moments that always happen whenever kids are involved.

These are the moments that are so fleeting, particularly when your children are small. Children grow so quickly!

Equine Photography

“The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit and freedom”. –  Sharon Ralls Lemon

Our family here at Avedon are horse people – horse mad in fact, so we understand the extremely deep and special bond that humans and horses share.

I will ensure this unique bond is captured for you and your horse.

Pet Photography

“Just like every home needs a bathroom, I believe every family needs a pet to love.” – Cate Thomas, Avedon Photography

Pets aren’t just pets; they’re a much-loved part of the family. They’re always happy to see you, can always make you smile, particularly after a bad day, and pets are always loyal and trusting.

So, it’s only natural that many of my families want to include their beloved pets in a family photograph or book a pet photography session just for their pet.

Legacy Photography

“They never live long enough.” – Every person who shared life with a pet.

There are no truer words than those written above. Over the past few years, I’ve provided families with their very last portrait of their beloved pet.

A past client even confided that the album of their pet’s legacy session has brought them so much comfort and helped with the grieving process. This is the importance of photography. This is the reason I introduced pet legacy sessions.

Rural Photography

“The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.” – Masanobu Fukuoka

When I pour milk into my morning coffee or take a bite of a juicy red apple, it’s easy to enjoy the food without fully appreciating the blood, sweat and tears that go into producing it.

There’s much to be said about A Farmer’s Way of Life.

It’s bloody hard work. But it’s a labour of love too.
